This is a short guide to casting from Windows 10 devices to smart TVs. For our guide on casting to Apple TV, read Watch on Apple TV. For more in-depth instructions, please refer to your device manufacturer's support documentation.

  1. Ensure your smart TV has Wi-Fi enabled, and is connected to the same network as your Windows 10 device.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on both devices, and check that both devices support Miracast (the Windows Connect app is found under the Start menu).

  3. Check that your smart TV and PC drivers are up to date.

  4. Using your TV remote, opent the "Home" or "Input" menu. Depending on the make and model of TV, the menu options may vary.

  5. Select "Screen mirroring" or "Project" depending on which kind of casting you wish to do.

  6. On your Windows 10 device, go to the settings menu, and select "Devices."

  7. Underneath "Bluetooth & other devices," select "Add Bluetooth or other device."

  8. Select your smart TV from the menu to begin casting.

If you're unsuccessful in configuring casting, we recommend connecting your Windows 10 device to your smart TV using an HDMI cable or third-party adapter, such as Google Chromecast or Miracast adapter. Adapter methods have the benefit of working with non-smart TVs.
